Heartstrings Calligraphy and Design: Hand-done Calligraphy and Art

My name is Sharon Thomas, owner and sole calligrapher of my company. I live in a rural area outside of a small town,
so the Web is my window to the world, and the world's window to my work! I am very blessed to have a
wonderfully supportive husband of 37 years. We are the parents of three sons, all of whom we are very proud. Our oldest sons are
both graduates of Texas Tech University. Our oldest son is married, and he and his wife are the parents of our two beautiful
granddaughters and cute, cute twin boys. Our middle son is also married, (I am thrilled to at last have two precious
Christian "daughters" who are wonderful home-makers), and he and his wife are the parents of
our other cute, cute grandson and beautiful newborn granddaughter.
How God has blessed us! We are so thankful.

My oldest son is the pastor of a Bible church and is an outstanding Bible teacher. My middle son and his wife are
very dedicated missionaries serving out of the country with GoodSeed International, a ministry for writing, publishing, distributing,
and teaching materials for those who know little or nothing about the Bible. Visit their websites for deep and
serious Bible study that will challenge you and help you grow as a Christian:

Our youngest son is a very hardworking college freshman in his first year away from home. He is a very artistic and
creative...He is majoring in architecture and is a very talented composer as well. What a blessing they all are to us!

So my husband and I are new empty-nesters.

All my life I have played around with art and design, and a long time ago I had my first calligraphy
lesson from an art teacher-friend. I loved it and practiced on my own. I did quite a bit of work for
people for awhile, such as certificates, invitations, and gifts. But then I went back to school,
earned my degree in elementary education, and taught school for a few years. I loved working
with children, but teaching consumed me and left me with little energy to devote to my
youngest child, so I quit to stay home and be a full-time mom.

Since I have always been a very active person with a lot of interests (and I no longer had my
teaching salary!), it wasn't long before I started looking around for a business that I could do
from my home. I thought about calligraphy, but I had absolutely no desire to do it anymore. So
I put it to prayer. I asked the Lord that if He wanted me to do calligraphy again, to please give
me the desire to do it. He gave me an overwhelming desire, and I give Him the glory for
helping me every day as I learn, draw, paint, write, and design.
I am a member of Kaligrafos, the Dallas Calligraphy Guild, along with teaching children's
Sunday School at my church and helping with Awana at another local church.

Creating beautiful, original pieces gives me great joy. I hope that you enjoy browsing my galleries
and find something just right for yourself or someone special to you. If you don't find exactly
what you need, I will be happy to work with you to create a one-of-a-kind custom design for you.

His Solid Ground

This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world
that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us
and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10
