All my life I have played around with art and design, and a long time ago I had my first calligraphy
lesson from an art teacher-friend. I loved it and practiced on my own. I did quite a bit of work for
people for awhile, such as certificates, invitations, and gifts. But then I went back to school,
earned my degree in elementary education, and taught school for a few years. I loved working
with children, but teaching consumed me and left me with little energy to devote to my
youngest child, so I quit to stay home and be a full-time mom.
Since I have always been a very active person with a lot of interests (and I no longer had my
teaching salary!), it wasn't long before I started looking around for a business that I could do
from my home. I thought about calligraphy, but I had absolutely no desire to do it anymore. So
I put it to prayer. I asked the Lord that if He wanted me to do calligraphy again, to please give
me the desire to do it. He gave me an overwhelming desire, and I give Him the glory for
helping me every day as I learn, draw, paint, write, and design.
I am a member of Kaligrafos, the Dallas Calligraphy Guild, along with teaching children's
Sunday School at my church and helping with Awana at another local church.
Creating beautiful, original pieces gives me great joy. I hope that you enjoy browsing my galleries
and find something just right for yourself or someone special to you. If you don't find exactly
what you need, I will be happy to work with you to create a one-of-a-kind custom design for you.
